Reality today, before Joy.

Ava is an independent therapist. She left the big clinic to be her own boss. Let's tag along on a typical day.

It's 08:55 and Ava's first client is waiting outside. She hasn't had time to type up her notes from their last session, so she's flipping through her notebook, trying to catch up.

"Hmm...was Matthew supposed to continue with the journaling?"

12:30 — A patient for tomorrow afternoon cancels. Ava knows a few others have asked for urgent slots, but she doesn't have time to contact them and check if they're available.

"I'll do it after the next session."

Session time, but suddenly, her mind drifts.

Oh no, did I send Sarah that worksheet on mindfulness I promised? And what about Lou? Did she get back to me about our next session?

It's 6 pm, and Ava's last session is over.

She sits down to type her notes and tackle everything else still waiting for her.
